GreatSchools.org has rated Tampa’s H.B. Plant High School as one of the BEST public high schools in Florida with a score of 9 out of 10. US News and World Report ranked Plant High the 22nd best public school in Florida and 321st nationally in 2012
The athletics programs offered include football, volleyball, sailing, rowing, and ice hockey. The school’s football team, The Plant Panthers, went undefeated winning their first Florida State Football Championship on December 9, 2006.

The Elementary and Middle Schools in the Plant High School District are also some of the best. They are Mabry Elementary, Mitchell Elementary, and Grady Elementary.
